SureSmile Clear Aligners
Straighten your smile invisibly — no metal brackets, fully removable.
Straighter teeth, without a mouthful of metal. SureSmile clear aligners gently move your teeth into place using a series of clear, custom-made trays you can take out to eat, brush, and smile for photos — so most people won't even know you're straightening your smile. At Smile360 Chicago, Dr. Mustafa Salam maps your entire treatment digitally and shows you a 3D preview of your final smile before you ever start, so you know exactly where you're headed — all from our office on Devon Avenue, on the North Side of Chicago.
The short version
- Clear, removable aligners most people won’t even notice
- See your predicted result before you begin
- Straightens crowding, gaps, and bite problems
- Eat and brush normally — just take them out
Why choose clear aligners?
Compared with traditional metal braces, clear aligners fit modern life:
- Practically invisible. The smooth, clear trays are hard to spot — no brackets, no wires.
- Removable. Take them out to eat whatever you like and to brush and floss normally — no food restrictions, no cleaning around wires.
- More comfortable. No metal edges to poke or scrape; just gentle, gradual movement.
- Fewer, quicker visits. With everything planned in advance, you'll spend less time in the chair than braces require.
See your new smile before you start
There's no guessing here. We take a quick 3D scan of your teeth and use it to plan every step of your treatment — then show you a preview of your projected result before you commit. You'll see roughly how your smile will look and about how long it will take, so you can move forward with confidence.
What SureSmile can straighten
Clear aligners are a great fit for a wide range of smiles, including:
- Crowded or overlapping teeth
- Gaps and spacing
- Mildly crooked or rotated teeth
- Many common bite issues
For very complex cases, we'll always give you an honest recommendation on the best approach — and if aligners aren't the ideal fit, we'll tell you.

Tip
Aligners work best worn 20–22 hours a day. Take them out only to eat, drink anything but water, and brush — then pop them straight back in.
How it works
You'll wear a series of custom aligners, each one moving your teeth a little closer to the goal. Wear them about 20–22 hours a day, take them out only to eat and clean your teeth, and switch to the next set roughly every one to two weeks. You'll check in with us periodically so we can track your progress. Most treatments take somewhere between about 6 and 18 months, depending on how much your teeth need to move — and we'll give you your personal estimate up front.
Cost, insurance & financing
We'll give you a clear, all-in estimate at your consultation — no surprises. If your dental plan includes orthodontic benefits, they can often be applied toward treatment, and we'll help you use them. For the balance (or if you don't have ortho coverage), we offer flexible monthly financing through CareCredit, so a straighter smile fits your budget.
“The best part is showing patients their finished smile on day one — before they’ve worn a single aligner.”
Personal, honest care
Straightening your smile is a journey, and it helps to have a dentist who knows you the whole way through. Dr. Salam plans your treatment personally and keeps things calm, clear, and judgment-free — no pressure, just a straightforward path to the smile you want.

Yes. We take a 3D scan and show you a preview of your projected smile, along with roughly how long treatment will take, before you commit — so you know exactly what you're working toward.
Most won't. The aligners are clear, smooth, and custom-fit, so they're very hard to notice — one of the biggest reasons people choose them over braces. You can also take them out for a special photo or event.
Yes — that's one of the best parts. You take the aligners out to eat and drink (anything but water), so there are no food restrictions, and you brush and floss as usual. Just pop them back in afterward. For the best results, wear them about 20–22 hours a day.
Not really. You may feel gentle pressure or mild tenderness for a day or two when you start a new set of aligners — that's the sign they're working — but it's usually mild and temporary, and far more comfortable than the pokes and scrapes of metal braces.
It depends on how much your teeth need to move, but most clear-aligner treatments take somewhere between about 6 and 18 months. Minor corrections can be even faster. We'll give you a personal timeline at your consultation, based on your 3D scan.
Both are clear, removable aligner systems that straighten teeth discreetly — the trays look and work very similarly. SureSmile uses precise digital planning and is often a great fit (and a bit more affordable) for common issues like crowding and spacing. At your consultation, we'll recommend the best option for your specific smile.
